Minnetonka Preschool & ECFE PTO

The Minnetonka Preschool and ECFE PTO is made up of parents of children in the ECFE and Preschool classes. The purpose of the PTO is to support and enhance ECFE and Preschool programs through advocacy, community outreach, fundraising and volunteering. We also serve as the Advisory Council for the program, providing valuable feedback to administration. The PTO sponsors events such as Family Dance Party, Preschool Open House, and the Spring Picnic.

We meet on the second Thursday of the month, alternating between day and evening meetings. Childcare is provided during daytime meetings. All are welcome. Meetings are usually attended by program staff, school board members and district administration and are a great way to learn more about what is going on district-wide. There are many volunteer opportunities available as well. In the United States, one in seven mothers will suffer from prenatal or postpartum depression and over half of women experiencing symptoms of depression during or after pregnancy will not receive treatment. Request a HUG visit

Minnetonka Schools and HUG offer free home visits to all families in our District with children from birth to one year old. The visit includes a gift from Early Childhood Family Education, a HUG book of fun play ideas for you and your baby, and information on resources and support. Early Childhood Special Education

Early Childhood Special Education is our District's program that provides early intervention for young children, age birth to kindergarten, who show developmental delay in the general areas of: cognitive, speech and language, large and fine motor skills, adaptive/functional skills, vision or hearing losses, and/or social and emotional skills.

If your child receives a formal evaluation to identify specific needs, trained ECSE teachers and specialists will work with you and your child to develop his or her greatest potential. From birth to age three, these Special Education services are delivered to your child primarily in your home or childcare center. From age three to Kindergarten, your child can receive these services at our Minnetonka Community Education Center. Visit the Early Childhood Special Education page for more information.

Parent Talk Webinars

Parent Talk is for parents of children birth to age five. Using web conferencing software, that we provide, parents can enjoy unhurried discussion time with other moms and dads who share a desire to grow as parents. Best of all, you can do it from the comfort of your own home and don't need to worry about a babysitter!
